Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Well, you're in luck!
Ivers has put together a wonderful tutorial on making Corned Beef and Cabbage.
And for dessert you will have to stop over at her Etsy shop to check out her adorable St. Patrick's Day cookies! So cute!

Doughnut
I used the template on Skip to My Lou to cut out the frosting, but I found the doughnut template was too small compared to the frosting, so I traced a CD instead.
I love the look of the blanket stitch for "baked goods" so I used it to attach the frosting to the top doughnut piece.
I then used my sewing machine to sew the two brown doughnut pieces together inside out.
Next I flipped it right-side out and used the blanket stitch on the middle to close the doughnut up.
I stopped a few stitches from the end and stuffed it full. I think it is pretty cute!
Small Sale Alert...
I found these felt colors clearanced at Walmart for $0.10 each instead of the normal $0.25 (or $0.29 at Jo-Ann and Michaels). I used the brown and pink for my doughnut and picked up some yellow for a future banana. Hopefully they have the clearance at your Walmart too!

Pear
Unfortunately, my apple turned out like a tomato...
And my pear looks like an overgrown green head of garlic...
I'm sure it's not the pattern's fault, as the seller's pictures looked very nice. Still, I knew there had to be something better out there for me. I went in search of the perfect pear tutorial and I found it!!

Carrots
Hand-sewn: with the decorative stitches showing (so cute!)
Both have a wonderful place in the world of felt food!
I decided to try a project done almost entirely on a sewing machine and found these great felt carrots from i make stuff.
I tried a couple different carrot tops and a couple different colors of green... now I will have to decide which is my favorite!
